Suspension Work at Our Master Workshop

01

Damping-adjustable air suspension: installation and calibration

Air suspension systems come with a compressor, tank, lines, sensors and control electronics. We plan the installation space, route everything cleanly and leak-free, calibrate the ride height positions and set the damping so the car stays genuinely drivable.
02

Coilovers and lowering

Coilovers are the direct route to a lower stance and sharper handling. We fit them, set the ride height to suit your specific vehicle and check clearance, remaining suspension travel and headlight aim.
03

Wheel alignment and toe adjustment

Every suspension change alters camber and toe. Without a wheel alignment your car will chew through tyres and handle worse than before. That's why wheel alignment after lowering in Weiden in der Oberpfalz is part of the job here, not an optional extra somewhere down the line.
04

Suspension inspection and wear diagnosis

Clunking noises, vague steering, uneven tyre wear or a car that pulls under braking: we check dampers, mounts, bushings and joints and tell you clearly what needs replacing.
05

Race setups and race car builds

For track days and racing series we build cars from the ground up and dial them in. Christian Klein has competed in various racing series himself, including at the Nürburgring, and that experience goes straight into your setup.

OVERVIEW

Air Suspension or Coilovers. Which Is Better?

There's no universal answer, only the right one for how you use the car. Air suspension allows extreme lowering when parked while staying usable every day, because you simply raise the car again at the push of a button, but installation, packaging and maintenance take more effort. Coilovers are mechanically simpler, more robust and usually the better choice when handling is the priority.

Our BMW M6 E63 "21 Inch on AIR" shows just how uncompromising air can look paired with big wheels. At Unlimited Auto we talk straight beforehand about what you actually want: show, daily driving or track. Then we build the suspension exactly for that, and we'll tell you honestly if your wish list and your daily reality don't match.

HOW WE WORK

Tiefergelegter BMW E46 auf mehrteiligen Felgen in der Kfz-Meisterwerkstatt Unlimited Auto in Weiden

Air or coilovers, that depends on your daily drive

The E46 in the picture runs air suspension. Low when parked, and still usable over kerbs every day. Coilovers cost less and set up harder. We ask how you drive first, and how low you want it second.

The comparison

Springs, coilovers or air, and what follows in daily use

All three lower the car. They differ in what happens afterwards. Whether you can still change the height, how often you have to clear a kerb, and what maintenance comes with it. That is why we ask how you drive first.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions About Suspension and Lowering

Yes. Suspension modifications generally require inspection and registration in the vehicle documents unless they are covered by a general type approval and all its conditions are met. We check the paperwork for every component and arrange the inspection with TÜV SÜD.

Yes, provided it is installed properly. What matters is clean line routing, leak-free connections, a sensibly positioned compressor and tank, and correct calibration of the ride heights. That’s exactly what we focus on during installation at our independent master auto repair shop in Weiden in der Oberpfalz.

Yes. Any change in ride height alters camber and toe. Without a follow-up alignment, stability suffers and tyres wear unevenly. Which costs more in the end than the alignment itself.

Yes, race car builds are part of what we do. Tell us which series or purpose you have in mind and we’ll discuss suspension, brakes, engine output and safety equipment as one complete concept.
